We had a dream-what if we could bring New York Style Italian food to Bay Minette?
We had a dream...last year we came south from Queens, New York, from a railroad flat apartment to a small house in Bay Minette, Alabama. We had been here some time ago, but what we found we missed, as time went by, was, in our new home town, good Italian food. My wife dreamt of buttered rolls or bagels for breakfast; the NY 'Bacon and Egg on a roll' and in the evening our local Italian place. My wife had inherited wonderful recipes from our Italian neighbors and family, and wanted to share them. So when the opportunity came to host a real New York Italian restaurant, we took it, and now we are here to share Sophia's with you.
New York Italian is not like any other food you will ever know. It's rich with flavor, fresh herbs, sauces that are made fresh, and the pasta melts in your mouth. Our steaks and seafood are cooked to order, and have an Italian twist-try our New York heroes for lunch, or a Muffalata you haven't had since Central Grocery in New Orleans.
Come in for breakfast, enjoy with us a breakfast buffet, or enjoy something cooked to order like a bacon and egg on a roll. Come for lunch and indulge in a steak sandwich with cheese and peppers, or some lasagna which is my wife's aunt's passed- down recipe.
Come and let's together put Bay Minette on the map, and enjoy a cup of cappuccino or espresso with some Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake or Tiramisu. We have daily Chef's specials and a Sunday Brunch.
